Anne Berk is a respected Dutch artcritic. She is trained in sculpture and arthistory. She likes to share her knowledge and passion for the arts with the public, in articles, live or in short films on YouTube. Anne Berk has contributed to artmagazines and newspapers such as Kunstbeeld and Het Financieele Dagblad. She is the author of more than thousand articles and a number of monographs. She wrote a book about the shift from abstract to figurative art in Dutch sculpture, in the context of changes in society, called Bodytalk, de nieuwe figuratie in de Nederlandse beeldhouwkunst van de jaren negentig (Waanders, 2004). She made an exhibition on this topic in Museum Beelden aan Zee, Scheveningen. Now she works on a follow-up In Search of Meaning, the Human Figure in Contemporary Sculpture. Anne Berk is a much sought lecturer . She set up her own contemporary art-course, KunstNaderBekeken. She also contributes to MyFirstArtCollection and Bougiesartinitiatives. She is actively involved in the European Sculpture Network.
